Building Your Professional Online Identity: WordPress Workshop Series
Thursdays from 12-1, Digital Scholarship Center (Bertrand 123)
Space is limited. Please RSVP to lit-events@bucknell.edu
Creating an online presence is increasingly important in academia. A recent article in the Chronicle notes, “now it is attention that is a scarce commodity,” and as a result, “we cannot trust that our work will find an audience on its own.” An online academic profile can generate interest in your research, teaching, and other professional activities; broaden access to new research; and make connections in your field and across disciplines.
This workshop series will help you learn the necessary skills to use WordPress—a common website platform—and apply those skills to create a digital CV.
Please bring your laptop and your lunch with you to the sessions. We will spend the first portion of the workshops going over the topic and skills for the week. The rest of the time will be devoted to you working on building your site.
